On
Earth, war is a distant memory of years gone by as the human race
has united in peace.
Over
the course of the last 200 years Earth has spread its mission of a
utopian existence to the farthest reaches of the galaxy, but not all
the races they have encountered have welcomed humans with open arms.
The
Vrill, a frightening race of unknown origin now threatens to destroy
Earth and wipe out the human race.
For
many years, humans have ignored the threat as it has always been
‘too far from our solar system to concern us.’ But the politicians
were wrong, and now the Vrill threat is creeping ever-closer to
Earth.
Only
one organization stands between them and total domination: Dark
Operations.
The
ultra secret division of the United Earth Alliance charged with the
mission of defending the human race at all costs.
“Dark Operations; A Dark Odyssey Begins” is the pilot episode
of a series that will follow the epic journey of Captain Royce
McGregor and his brave crew as they are recruited by Dark Ops for a
mission almost certain to take their lives.
Following the destruction of his ship, and the death of most of his
crew, Capt McGregor and his fellow survivors find themselves pulled
in to a society that the outside world doesn’t even know exists.
Led
by the highly decorated Admiral John Winston Cross, Dark Operations
sits as Earth’s only hope for survival against the increasing Vrill
threat.
After the strong-arm recruitment by the Admiral, Capt McGregor and
his crew are trained for battle and given Dark Operations’ newest
flag ship. The USS Armstrong is a powerful warship built to survive
the long engagement that her crew will face against the Vrill.
As
our pilot episode closes, Captain McGregor and his crew leave Dark
Ops Head Quarters and begin their mission of genocide. Their goal:
To neutralize the Vrill threat and return home.
At
this time, several other episodes have been written that follow the
pilot episode, and a timeline covering the span of the entire series
is also complete.
The
Captain will lead his crew towards an uncertain destiny against a
terrifying enemy throughout the series, however “Dark Operations”
will not only tell its epic 70 year story, but will also tackle many
social issues that sit at the forefront of our mind today including
spousal abuse, drug addiction, and assisted suicide just to name a
few. Some of the coming episodes about to enter production follow:
“Mercy”
–2 weeks after launching. The Armstrong
stumbles upon a Murin vessel attempting to send terminally ill
people aboard a Vrill hive in an effort to try to infect the hive
with the diseases.
Col.
Cross and Cmdr. Sullivan disagree on how to handle the dieing
patients after the Armstrong destroys the hive. Elsewhere, Capt
McGregor’s mean streak begins to rear its ugly head and Lauren has
an ugly argument with Bruce.
“Missouri”–
In the wake of the
Armstrong’s first engagement, the Vrill have sent two hives to
intercept the Armstrong before the ship can enter Vrill space.
Not
seasoned or ready to handle two hives at once, the Armstrong is
joined by the Missouri. Under the command of Commodore Willis
Sullivan, the Missouri is ordered to create a diversion and allow
the Armstrong to get by the Vrill century ships. McGregor must
decide if he should ignore his orders, or leave the Missouri to be
decimated by two hives.
Elsewhere, Hinkley deals with the fallout of a minor indiscretion,
Lauren tends to her wounds before returning to work, and Capt Yen
has doubts about Well’s loyalty after an encounter with a masked
warrior woman.
